Goal achievers have a winning
attitude, that was the main take
home message of the recent
SEPWA Ladies’ subcommittee
“Lunch and Learn” event
presented by life coach Jill
Hutchison.
Held at the Taylor Street Jetty Café
in early November, the lunch was an
opportunity for thirty nine men and
women to find out how to set goals
to thrive and not just survive.
Jill Hutchison, a keynote speaker at this year’s SEPWA Ladies’
Day and life coach from Hopetoun, believes that people with great
attitudes naturally rise to the top. They expect success and they get
success.
“We can’t do anything about the weather! There is little we can
do about the economy or political situation. We can sometimes
influence the circumstances we are in. The only thing we have total
control over is our attitude: our actions, our feelings, our responses
to what is going on around us”, said Mrs Hutchison.
In her lunch address, Mrs Hutchison illustrated how in the same
way a transistor radio or television tunes into certain frequencies to
receive a variety of music or information; we can “tune” our minds
into certain information that is going to propel us in the direction of
our goals.
“The lunch was a great way for people to find out about a dynamic
workshop that I run on setting goals. It is designed to give people
the capacity to change the beliefs and habits that no longer serve
you and get results you never before thought possible. You will
learn about the natural laws that govern our environment the ones
you can work with to become happier, more productive and more
profitable.”
Sharon Barber, SEPWA Ladies’ Subcommittee chair, was thrilled
that Mrs Hutchison was able to return to Esperance after speaking
at SEPWA Ladies’ Day in August.
She said the SEPWA Ladies’ subcommittee aims to encourage
women to network and to gain an understanding and to further build
on their knowledge and role within the farming business to ensure
the future sustainability of their business.
“This lunch was another way for people to gain access to
information that they would otherwise have to travel to Perth or
another major regional centre.”
“For me personally I’m looking forward to learning more about goal
achieving. I’m a great goal setter but my track record for achieving
goals is terrible so obviously there are a few key steps in between
that I’m missing”, said Mrs Barber.

How to reach my goals
I found the “2008 is gr8” program made me think about what I am doing, what I want to be doing and how to get there.
Jill Hutchison is a very enthusiastic and personable presenter, she is very good at creating a comfortable environment for sharing.

Feel clearer about my goals and directions
I attended Jill’s program entitled “2008 is great” based on “Best Year Yet” by Jinny Ditzler- it added value to me by making me stop, take a breath and reassess everything from work aspirations to familial relationships.
It is worth the time and effort to evaluate where you are in life now and where you intend to be. This course helped me clarify my new goals, which had changed considerably since I last thought about them 10 years ago. Worth doing at least once a year. Jill was enthusiastic and effective facilitator or the material.
I feel less confused and clearer about my goals and directions as a result of working with Jill Hutchison from Evolve Dynamic. This makes me feel less stressful in general.
