Are you clear on what is important to you?

My role isn’t simply to tell you what to do. It is to create the thinking space you may not have elsewhere and ask the questions that help you uncover what is really going on. I ask questions at both a conscious and subconscious level to help get to the heart of the real issue. Once we understand the real issue- not simply the most obvious symptom – we can begin solving the right problem.

“Damn, Jill – you were inside my head at two o’clock in the morning. I couldn’t stop thinking about that question you asked me.”
{AND NOW I HAVE THE ANSWERS!}

Manager, Mining

I work with capable people who have achieved a great deal but have reached a point where they need clarity about what comes next. They don’t necessarily need someone to give them the answers.

They need confidential space to think, the right questions to challenge their assumptions and practical support to turn their ideas into action.

The people who come to me include:

• Executives navigating redundancy or career transition

• Senior leaders considering their next role or career chapter

• Mid-career professionals who feel stuck, overlooked or unfulfilled

• Early-career professionals seeking confidence, direction and stronger career skills

• Leaders who want to motivate their people and build stronger teams

• Successful professionals who know something needs to change but aren’t yet sure what.

My (outwardly successful) clients often arrive feeling uncertain, overwhelmed or less confident than usual. They may be struggling to articulate their strengths and the value they bring. They may have several possible directions but no clear decision. Some know exactly what they need to do – but they aren’t doing it. Others are successful on paper. The role, title, income and achievements all look fine, but something no longer fits. My role is to help them pause, think and decide. Together, we identify what is really happening, clarify what they want and create a practical strategy for moving forward.

Hi, I’m Jill Hutchison, Executive Coach and Leadership facilitator.

Clients who work with me report:

• Greater clarity and certainty
• Rebuilt career and leadership confidence
• A stronger understanding of their strengths
• A clearer personal brand and professional narrative
• Better career and business decisions
• More successful interviews and networking conversations – securing the role of their choice
• Improved communication and leadership capability
• Stronger, more cohesive teams
• Clear priorities and a practical action plan
• Renewed momentum towards the future they want

For clients navigating career transition, the job search becomes more focused, easier and more successful. More than 90% of those who work with me on their career strategy find their next role within four months. My coaching is grounded in real-world experience. I’ve navigated career changes, international relocation, business ownership and a move into the mining industry in my late 40s where I held leadership roles global mining company, working across risk, safety, operations, budgets, productivity, workforce capability, culture and organisational change. I’ve led large teams and complex programs, worked FIFO in my 50s, raised three children while building my career and started seven businesses. I understand leadership in the messy middle – the competing priorities, difficult conversations, organisational politics, family responsibilities and moments when you question whether the career or business you’ve built still suits the person you have become. I also know that leadership isn’t about getting everything right. Some of the (many) mistakes I’ve made have shaped my coaching, making it richer, more practical and more real. People value my ability to see what they may not be able to see from inside the situation, recognise the strengths they’re taking for granted and ask the questions that help them move forward. This channel shares practical insights about career transition, executive leadership, team effectiveness and creating a career and life that feels right for you.

If you’re at a crossroads, preparing for your next opportunity or ready to make a greater impact, you don’t need to have everything figured out before asking for support.

Sometimes the first step is simply having the right conversation. To learn more about executive coaching, career coaching, leadership development, team profiling or facilitated team days – or to book a 30-minute Career Strategy Call, visit: www.jillhutchison.com

A welcome side effect of gaining this clarity is that clients often feel less anxious and generally happier. When you understand what is creating the uncertainty, know what you want and have a practical plan for moving forward, the constant mental noise begins to settle. You stop repeatedly questioning every possibility and regain a greater sense of control, optimism and enjoyment – both at work and in the rest of your life.
