Is your Goal inspiring enough for you?

July 18, 2015 by Jill Hutchison Leave a Comment

Is your Goal inspiring enough for you?

This morning I was listening to my mentor, Bob Proctor, as I have so often, talk about goals.  He mentioned how the goal that is right for you is one that inspires you, that excites you and challenges you.  Which got me thinking….

How often have you written your goals down, and looked at the list and felt very little emotion? Or perhaps despondent?  This is because we have been conditioned to only strive for things that we know we can achieve.  When last did you think of something you really, really want, but didn’t have a clue how you would get it?

We are also conditioned to set goals that are realistic (I do believe I have seen this in some goal-setting seminars).  Did the Wright brothers have a realistic goal of getting something to fly when previously the airspace was exclusively for birds.  Research has proven that sometimes the more unrealistic a goal is, the better the chances of you achieving it.

You see, goals are there to help you grow. When you set goals that you know how to reach, you go sideways  – there is no challenge in getting them.  This is where procrastination sets in, or even boredom.  If you would like to get some passion back into your life, and be really eager to jump out of bed in the morning, then perhaps now is a good time to set bigger, brighter, more exciting goals.

Use your intellectual faculty of imagination – and give your imagination time to focus on the business you would truly love to have; the relationships or the income.  If you ever heard a child being reprimanded for day-dreaming, chances are that you decided it was a non-productive activity to let your mind wander.  I’d like to challenge you to turn this around in your favour right now.  Did you know that Richard Branson went to look at Necker Island long before he could afford to purchase an Island? The Wright brothers set out to create an aircraft that would fly, when no-one had ever succeeded in getting anything off the ground before.

What would you simply LOVE to be doing?  How would you like your next financial statement to look?  Where would you take a holiday if time and money were no object at all?

Have a great day,

with love and gratitude
Jill

Are you facing fear, doubt or confusion?

March 24, 2015 by Jill Hutchison Leave a Comment

If you have ever felt fear, doubt or confusion, you will enjoy today’s Chooseday video. I have felt it often, every time I stepped up into a big goal. The closer we get to achieving our goal, the more we tend to be challenged by our old beliefs and paradigms. It’s very “in your face” and can be confronting!

With my business coaching clients, I often see them stepping into the terror barrier. Whether you have  small, medium or large business, each time you take your business to the next level, you will encounter the Terror Barrier.

It’s the place when you are tempted to change tack, give up or take a break, but it’s exactly when you need to push through!

This is where it makes a difference working with a personal business coach or mentor – one who recognises when you are facing the terror barrier and will help you step through it rather than wanting to run from it!

Last week was International Happiness Day. My dear friend, Executive Coach and Bestselling author: Christina Skytt from Stockholm, Sweden joined me to talk about ‘Shining Your Light, relaxing into who you really are’. Christina is a leading executive coach in Sweden and in my opinion one of the best business coaches in Europe. She has been my mastermind partner since we met in Toronto while I was facilitating at Bob Proctor’s Matrixx event in 2012.  I laugh when I remember the week before her book Power Goals was released – she was right up against the Terror Barrier. When it was released, Power Goals became a bestseller in America, Canada, UK and India!

We did a Google Hangout together and you can watch it here:

This weekend I’m off to speak in Canberra at the National Press Club. I am also going to attend the National Speakers Convention. It’s great learning from experts and those who are already playing a bigger game. There is always so much to learn.

Have a great Chooseday!  With love and gratitude

Jill

Begin at once (don’t wait for everything to be perfect!)

November 25, 2014 by Jill Hutchison Leave a Comment

Don’t wait for circumstances to be right.

You wouldn’t wait for all the traffic lights to be green before leaving home would you?

Create a definite plan for carrying out your goal, then begin at once. If you are willing and able to do the first steps along the journey of reaching for your goals, then start. If it’s the right goal for you then it could be a scary and exciting one, and you may have no idea how you are going to reach the end goal. That’s ok, as long as you know the first few steps, the rest will follow.

ACTION is key.

This is the fourth in the video series on Napoleon Hill’s 6 definite practical actions to turn your desire into achieving your goals.

If you would like to join the next Think and Grow Rich Mastermind series online or in Perth, more information is available on www.evolvedynamic.com.

Timeless principles for you

July 24, 2014 by Jill Hutchison Leave a Comment

It was the 21st of January, my phone rang.

As I was busy on a call, I let it go to voicemail.

It rang again.

Then there was a text message that came through that said “It’s over, the mine is closing, we’re out of here”.

It felt like a severe blow.

We had moved from South Africa to Australia just 18 months before with our three children. Our first house in Australia was half way to being built and we lived in a small country town, which I knew would be empty soon after this news. You see, 90% of the income in this little town was related to the BHPBilliton owned Nickel mine.  So not only was  my husband’s income about to dry up, but our house had just halved in value, making it the worst investment we could possibly have had. My business was only in its infancy.

On my desk was the book I was studying: Think and Grow Rich.  Think and Grow Rich was written by Napoleon Hill in the early 1920’s, after 20 years of researching over 500 of the worlds most successful and wealthy individuals. The paragraph that stood out for me was this one:

“Before success comes in anyone’s life, that individual is sure to meet with much temporary defeat, and perhaps, some failure.  When defeat overtakes a person, the easiest and most logical thing to do is to QUIT. That is exactly what the majority of people do. More than 500 of the most successful individuals this country has ever known have told me that their greatest success came just one step beyond the point at which defeat had overtaken them. Failure is a trickster with a keen sense of irony and cunning. It takes great delight in tripping one when success is almost within reach.”

“Well”, I thought, “this feels like defeat and disaster – so it is probably time to get excited because this is preparing us for something bigger” !

Having a good working knowledge of the principles in Think and Grow Rich enabled us to change our circumstances dramatically. In the 5 years since this event occurred, everything has changed for the better. I’m not into bragging in blog posts, but will happily share our ‘wins’ that we’ve had if you ask.

Every time I read Think and Grow Rich I am astounded at how relevant the information is today, even though it was written almost 100 years ago.  There are some principles that are absolutely timeless and this book is largely regarded as one of the best business books around today.

Have a look at this video of Napoleon Hill talking about these principles:

Napoleon Hill wrote Think and Grow Rich. Earl Nightingale read Think and Grow Rich and then did many ventures with the Hill Foundation. My mentor, Bob Proctor, from the hit film “The Secret” worked with Earl Nightingale and the Conant-Nightingale foundation. I share the insights passed down to me through this line. It’s both a blessing and a privilege to do so.

Decide what you want!

June 21, 2013 by Jill Hutchison Leave a Comment

When you know what you want, what you really, really want – then magic happens!

When I read The Secret by Rhonda Byrne, I really loved the concept of focusing on what you wanted, and seeing it come about. Some of the critics of The Secret will say  “Just because I visualise what I want, that doesn’t mean it will happen by itself!”

Very true. If we could sit on a sofa, and visual our goals coming true without having to take any action, then we’d all be in the business of selling magic Secret sofas! This is how it works: when we visualise what we want, as long as it’s the right goal for us, then we feel compelled to start taking action on it. Even if it’s one small step, it’s in the right direction.

What goals do you have?

September 9, 2012 by Jill Hutchison Leave a Comment

Yes!  I brought Loral Langemeier to Perth in September 2011 and and again in September 2012. I’m sharing this story to illustrate how, when you get clear on your goals, they very often come true!

You have probably heard the story about how, four years ago, I read  “The Secret”.  We had just arrived in Australia, from South Africa to a small village called Hopetoun, on the southern coast of Western Australia (population: 300!)  Our kids were 5, 7 and 11 – and it had been a whirlwind journey of packing up our life and moving to a whole new environment. My husband was starting a new job and the kids went into a brand new school.

The book made such an impression on me, that I bought the audio and the DVD version of it. I decided that I would study with the teachers featured in The Secret.  So I started reading several books and programs – from Bob Proctor, Loral Langemeier, John Assaraf, Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen, Wayne Dyer, Louise Hay, amoungst others.

Loral Langemeier made a big impression on me.  She had become a millionaire as a single mother in her early 30’s.  I thought “Wow, I would love to meet her and learn from her.”

Since then I’ve travelled to Lake Tahoe to do her LBT – Loral’s Big Table and have coached some of her premium clients.  I’ve also purchased cash-flow positive property in the USA, and built a business in Perth.  I’m being approached by investors to share with them my experience of USA Real Estate, and buying in the USA from Australia.

What I’m fascinated with is the calibre of people I’m now attracting – experienced investors who have played in many different international arenas – seeking me out because of my knowledge of the USA positive geared real estate. Residential property in the USA generates between 12-26% gross return, depending on where you buy.

Opening up the conversation about money and how we think about it is an amazing journey!

I would like to encourage you to think about what you’d like to be doing (if you’re not already doing it), who you would like to meet or be talking to along the way – and what sort of impact you want to have – whether that is through your own endeavours, through your business or through the others you inspire along the way.

Have a great weekend,

Kind regards

Jill

With over 1000 new people moving into Western Australia each week, there are bound to be all sorts of implications. From housing being needed, to investment opportunities, to cultural issues being faced in companies. The drivers are the mining and oil and gas industries, which are happening in the Pilbarra region, North west of WA.

There are opportunities everywhere – you simply have to look for them!

Before success comes in any man’s life

August 22, 2012 by Jill Hutchison Leave a Comment

“Before success comes in any man’s life, he is sure to meet with much temporary defeat, and, perhaps, some failure. When defeat overtakes a man, the easiest and most logical thing to do is to quit. That is exactly what the majority of men do.
More than five hundred of the most successful men this country has ever known told the author their greatest success came just one step beyond the point at which defeat had overtaken them.”

This comes from Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill.
If you’re facing a challenge, or in spite of all your efforts, feel like giving up, you can get excited! It means that you’re close to the success you’ve been seeking. Perhaps you still have some lessons to learn along the way?
Napoleon Hill interviewed over 500 of the wealthiest individuals in the world between 1900-1920, and even though that was 100 years ago, the principles still apply.
Success doesn’t come easily at first. It’s not about getting the success, it’s about who we become in the process.
If all the money in the world were to be taken away from everyone, divided up exactly equally and given to each person in the world, it apparently wouldn’t take long for it to find it’s way back to where it is now. Interesting thought.
So if it’s monetary success you’re seeking, have you increased your financial education? Have you got an exercise program for your money muscles? Do you have money rules for your investing? Are you letting other people manage your hard-earned money, or are you taking charge of it and seeking advice from experts?

It’s our mindset that is critical in success. Finding opportunities is something successful people focus upon. They see any problem as a challenge to be overcome, or a key to learning for the next step.
Unsuccessful people focus on problems, worst-case scenarios and being what they call realistic. They use the evening news to dictate their mood, and allow negative influences to marinate their mind.

What does success mean to you? What you focus on, you get more of, so doesn’t it make sense to decide what you want you life to look like? Almost anyone can tell me what they don’t want – but can you tell me exactly what you do want?

There are many markers of success, and the measure of success is as individual and personal as you make it. Success could be seen in terms of relationships or health. Some might measure success based on the size of the team they manage, or the success of that team. Your view of success could be measured in how happy you are, or how good you feel, or how many of your goals you’ve achieved. Could it be what you’ve achieved academically? You could use your career, business or investing success as a barometer. What if you measured your success in terms of how relaxed you are, or how you respond to others?

I hope you’re measuring your success based on where you are now, where you’ve been and where you want to go. In other words, I trust you’re measuring your success based on your own markers, not compared to where others are. How do you even know if they’re going in the same direction as you are if you haven’t asked them? If they’re headed in the opposite direction, then they certainly aren’t a good measure of how well you’re doing!

Just for today, take a minute to define success in your own words – what it means to you.
Get clear on what you really, really want – then have a plan of action to get there.

THe Power of the Mastermind

January 24, 2012 by Jill Hutchison Leave a Comment

In our social life there are many reasons why we seek to surround ourselves with like-minded people; we enjoy the same sport or hobby; love to indulge in good food or wine, or just happen to enjoy hanging out.

In our working life it can often be a different story, particularly if you’re running a business. Do you ever feel like a big fish in a small pond?  (or are you in a new pond?)

Are you needing to surround yourself with bigger thinkers than you have now?

Do you have people around you that challenge your thinking and stretch you to reach your full potential?  Do you have mentors that have already achieved what you wish to achieve?

Are you like the investors and business owners I work with – who are successful, but who would like to get together regularly with other successful people with different expertise and experience?  If you are, then you will love what we have put together!

Enter the Dynamic MasterMind Alliance  – a group of thought leaders who, amongst other things, will become your trusted advisors, mentors and colleagues to bounce ideas off.

The concept of a MasterMind group is not new but was originally conceived in the early 1900’s by some of America’s first wave of millionaire (and billionaire) entrepreneurs such as Andrew Carnegie, Henry Ford and John D Rockefeller.

Napoleon Hill, author of the classic Think and Grow Rich, went on to spend over 20 years studying 500 of the world’s most successful individuals and compiled a list of their successful habits – one of which is forming a powerful MasterMind group.

In his book he wrote about the MasterMind principle as:

“The coordination of knowledge and effort of two or more people, who work toward a definite purpose, in the spirit of harmony.”

He wrote, “No two minds ever come together without thereby creating a third, invisible intangible force, which may be likened to a third mind.”

Take a look at the following questions, and if you answer yes to any of them then it may be time to consider looking for some kind of support along the lines of the simple MasterMind principle.

Are you lonely at the top? – Leading your own business or being a leader in someone else’s organisation can often mean that you have to make the hard decisions without the support or understanding of colleagues.

Do you want to take your business to the next level? If you’ve been successful so far, but are looking for a new challenge to reach heights that you haven’t ventured into before, you’ll want to find others that you can talk to – to guide you through the minefield that you face.

Even if your current business is a new venture for you, this could be just what you need to grow it quicker, save you making expensive mistakes and reaping the benefits of your investment quicker.

Do you know you have more to offer than you’re doing right now?  You have big dreams and goals – is the  role you’re playing right now  challenging you like it once did?

Are you overwhelmed? – Has the change in economy affected your long term plans? Feeling overwhelmed with the deicsions of which way to go forward?

Do you always perform to your full potential?  Do you still give 100 per cent every day and love the life that you live or are you struggling to keep your performance at a high level?

Are you still excited about the work that you do?  Remember when you started this and everything was new and exciting? Do you still have that same feeling?

There is a lot to gain from being in the company of people who stretch your thinking.  The fact that they may have a different approach to tackling the same problem is just one of these. And, unlike machines, people can hold you accountable to your goals and offer you emotional support along the way.

Participants in MasterMind groups raise the bar by challenging each other to create and implement goals, brainstorm ideas, and support each other with total honesty and respect. We are meeting once each month, in a group up to 10 people – and discuss business, investments, entities, asset structuring, marketing, social media, mindset, goals – and other topics that will give the participants an excellent return on their investment.

I have always loved learning from others, connecting people to their own potential, and to other people who will be of benefit along their journey.  If you too are looking for this real progress in your business and personal life and an instant and valuable support network then you may wish to consider some of the pluses of belonging to a MasterMind group:

  • Be part of a small group of business leaders, innovators, investors and entrepreneurs – each highly respected in their own expertise – meeting in person right here in Perth or with an international group over the phone.
  • A “board meeting” on your business twice a year which will help you with your current situation and finding opportunities that you can take advantage of.
  • An experienced facilitator and chairman of each group, keeping the group on task and focused on each person’s business in turn
  • A supportive group who will challenge you to live your full potential.
  • Start playing a bigger game, doing what you know you should do.
  • Networking with like-minded locals that are also serious about their wealth journey.
  • Get clear on what you want, and have up to nine others “on your side”.
  • Start benefiting from the principle of a MasterMind alliance as talked about by Napoleon Hill in Think and Grow Rich.
  • Spend time working ON your business rather than IN it.
  • Have FUN with all the other BIG THINKERS in the group.

A MasterMind group will become your secret weapon, giving you the edge that has been missing in your life. It is a win-win for all involved: new growth, new friendships, new motivation and big new steps in the direction that you want to go.

Outlining your current situation and why you would like to be considered as a participant in the Dynamic Mastermind Alliance.  I personally speak with each applicant and make sure that the values of integrity and confidentiality are going to be adhered to. It’s as much about putting into the group as it is about getting something out of it.  If you are prepared to give freely of your experience and expertise for the good of the group, and would like to benefit from the experience and expertise of the group, then you’ll probably going to be a good fit.

The definite purpose of the Dynamic Mastermind Alliance is to grow the wealth of each person in the group, by means of sharing expertise and ideas on each member’s business or investment portfolion in turn.  We will give as much or more than we receive, so that others can experience our skills and expertise. When others know what your strengths are, they can refer you with confidence.

While referrals to your business will come over time, as everyone gets to know you and what you need in your business or investing strategies – the main aim is to serve as “Board members” of each business. Soliciting business is seen as a secondary gain, rather than the focus.  Referals and business will come organically as you prove your integrity and sincerity and capability within the group.

PS:  In order to retain the variation in expertise that will grow the Dynamic Mastermind Alliance, it is important to have people with broad expertise from a variety of businesses or investment asset classes.  Each niche can only be filled by one person – so if you wait before you join, you may need to wait a very long time before someone leaves and creates a space in your business area.

If you are in Perth – our next meeting is on the fourth Monday of each month – so if you act quickly you might be able to join us! please place your details in this box and I will contact you.
