Why do you need to write it in the book? If you’re anything like me, it’s easy to get distracted if you do it on a laptop, ipad or iphone – or any other device. By using a book and a simple pen, sitting quietly and commiting to writing 10 items every single day creates a shift in your vibration. How does it work? By repetitively writing the sentence beginning with “I’m so happy and grateful now that…”, you brainwash yourself and your body into believing that you are happy and grateful.
It has been proven by scientists, theologists, spiritual teachers and others, that when you focus on positive things in your life, your body chemistry physically shifts. Even if you don’t feel particularly grateful when you begin your writing, if you write “I’m so happy and grateful” enough times, you begin to be happy and grateful!
When I’m feeling particularly out of sync, I commit to a list of 30 things. Here are some of today’s items:
1. “I’m so happy and grateful for the blue sky today”
2. I’m so happy and grateful that exams are going well for Dylan.
3. I’m so happy and grateful to have had family visit us from South Africa this year.
4. I’m so happy and grateful for our pending holiday to South Africa for Christmas this year, the first Christmas we will have had with all our family there since 2006.
5. I’m so happy and grateful to live close to the beach and enjoy walking along the sea front regularly.
6. I’m so happy and grateful to have a great yoga teacher so close to home.
7. I’m so happy and grateful for all the opportunities we’ve had in Australia since moving here in 2007.
8. I’m so happy and grateful to have Ross home every night recently, rather than have him working away.
9. I’m so happy and grateful for technology, for the great music that is playing in the background.
10. I’m so happy and grateful for all my facebook friends cheering me on and inspiring me with their positive posts and supportive comments.
11.I’m so happy and grateful for all my lovely clients (most of whom have become family friends) who allow me into their lives and inside the personal spaces of their great minds.
12. I’m so happy and grateful for having worked with great thinkers like Bob Proctor and all the incredible people I’ve met in the process.
13. I’m so happy and grateful for the great weather we’ve been having in Perth – if this is winter, I’m happy!
14. I’m so happy and grateful that we live such a privileged life and are very comfortable.
15. I’m so happy and grateful for the fire burning behind me and warming my back.
16. I’m so happy and grateful the kids are all healthy and enjoying their netball and rugby respectively.
17. I’m so happy and grateful that my second book writing is going so well and for the inspiration that has been flowing.
18. I’m so happy and grateful to have a sunny outdoor area, where I can sit in the morning while writing my book.
19. I’m so happy and grateful for the internet, that has allowed us to have so much interaction with people all over the world. How marvelous is this, it simply didn’t exist when we were kids!
20. I’m so happy and grateful to be fit enough to walk and cycle in the fresh air and sunshine.
21. I’m so happy and grateful for my 87 year old neighbour Yvonne, who loves me visiting her and has such a great outlook on life!
